Can you believe it's already February? I can't! I can remember when I was a little girl that time used to seem to just about stand still. And I can remember my grandmother telling me to enjoy it and not be so impatient because when I got older time would pass us by quickly. You can never understand the wisdom and advise of your elders when you are young, but my grandmother was correct. The older I get the quicker each year seems to pass me by.
So here is a quick reminder for those of you that are in the same boat as I am, you know the one, where time passes too quickly and the things we have all intentions of doing get put off for another day until we forget them altogether. Indigo Skye's "Fresh Faces" Model Search continues. This is the last week for our current "fresh faces" look: mixed heritage. We are seeking children and young adults who are of mixed heritage to show off their uniquely beautiful faces. Those who participate will receive a free photo session and 2 free 5x7 portraits of your choice from the session! This is the last week for this look, so don't miss out! Questions or comments, simply give us a call at 864-801-1131 or shoot us an email at [email protected]!

Why Help March of Dimes NICU Family Support?
Because of the invaluable support they give to families during their NICU stay. I have asked a few friends of mine who have children in the NICU to write a comment about what the NICU Family Support meant to them during their NICU experience. My friend Heather D. was so gracious to send me this email telling how NICU Family Support helped her:
"When my son, Evan, was born prematurely, I was completely unprepared. I had experienced a normal pregnancy up to that point, and had given birth to a daughter two years prior who was born at full term. The doctors and nurses at the GMH NICU went beyond the call to answer my questions and set expectations for my son’s condition. On top of that the March of Dimes NICU Family Support was able to help me with the “extras” that were needed. They supplied me with tons of information about my son’s situation. It was very important to me to understand everything that I could about the obstacles that Evan was facing.
I was also very concerned about my older child. I had no idea how to explain to her what was going on. I wanted her to be happy that she had a little brother, and not be upset that her Mommy had to be at the hospital all of the time. The March of Dimes NICU Family Support provided me with gifts for my daughter: coloring books, “I’m a big sister” t-shits, and other goodies that made her feel special. They even gave me advice on how to explain what was going on to her. On top of all of that, they planned small support groups and events that helped make the entire family feel more comfortable during our stay.
Unfortunately, Evan did not survive. It was by far the most difficult time in my life. I had to make very tough decisions and deal with emotions that I could not have imagined. The March of Dimes NICU Family Support was there for me 100%. They helped me take pride in the fight my little man had put up, and talked with me about how to move forward from there. I will never forget the support that they gave to my family. They truly had a positive impact on my NICU experience!!"
Thank you so much Heather for providing me with such a heart felt explanation of what the March of Dimes NICU Family Support did for you and your family.
